Most plumbing quotes start with a $75–$150 site-visit fee. You can skip it if you send the right photos. Here's what an experienced plumber actually wants to see:
- The fixture, head-on. Brand and model number if visible. Sit your phone at the same height as the faucet/spout — not above.
- The fixture's connection. The back/underside — slip-on with set screw, threaded, or compression. This determines the replacement style.
- The cabinet/access. Open the door, photograph the supply lines + shutoff valves. Tight cabinets add 30–60 min of labor.
- The wall/tile around it. Damage, cracks, mismatched tile — they affect whether the new fixture can sit flush.
- Scale reference. A dollar bill or tape measure in frame for one photo so the plumber can size correctly.
